Follow these instructions if you are having trouble with your login or staying logged on.
If the content of your pages does not appear to be updating follow these instructions
Some personal firewalls block cookies. If you have firewall software running on your machine and you cannot accept cookies after making the appropriate setting changes in your browser below, please make sure that your firewall settings are not blocking cookies.
Staying Logged In
If you are having trouble with your login your browser may not be allowing cookies. It is easily corrected.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x:
- Select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu
- Click on "Privacy"
- Move slide bar to lowest setting. It will say "Accept all cookies"
- Click "OK"
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x:
- Select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu
- Click on "Security"
- Click on "Custom Level"
- Scroll down to the "cookies" section
- Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable"
- Set "Allow per
- session cookies" to "Enable"
- Click "OK"
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x:
- Select "Internet Options" from the View menu
- Click on the "Advanced" tab
- Scroll down to "Cookies" in the "Security" Section
- Select "Always Accept Cookies"
- Click "OK"
Firefox 1.x:
- Select "Tools" from the Edit menu. Choose Options -> Privacy -> Cookies
- Make sure only "Allow sites to accept cookies" is checked.
- Click "OK"
Netscape Communicator 4.x:
- Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu
- Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category
- Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies")
- Click "OK"
Keeping Content Correct
These instructions will set your web browser to keep the content of your web pages up to date. This setting will assure that you get the latest information
You want to change your "Internet Options" or "Preferences" to direct the browser to "Check for newer versions of stored pages on every visit to the page"
AOL - Version 7.x
- Select "Settings" on the top tool bar.
- Select "Preferences"
- Select "Internet Properties" under "Organization"
category
- Make sure you are viewing the "General" page (tab).
- Select "Settings" under "Temporary Internet Files "
- Click on "Every visit to the page"
- Select "OK"
- You may need to "exit" your browser, restart the
program and reload the site.
Microsoft Internet Explorer - Versions 5.x and 6:
- From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options:"
- From the "Internet Options" page, make sure you are viewing the "General"
page (tab).
- Under the "Temporary Internet Files" area, select "Settings".
- On the "Settings" page, under "Check for newer versions of stored
pages:", Select "Every visit to the page" and click "OK".
- On the "Internet Options" page, select "OK".
- Select the site again from "Favorites" or click on
"Refresh".
For other browsers contact your browser provider for instructions on enabling cookies and showing web content for every visit to the page (turn off caching).
